How We Work

I. Commitments We advance new, specific, time-bound, and measurable initiatives that promote human flourishing, protect vulnerable people, and ensure artificial intelligence serves the common good. Our members do not gather to have conversations. They gather to catalyze real-world change. Every participant to every convening arrives with two things: a personal pledge and an organizational commitment. Everyone has skin in the game, and everyone has a role to play.

II. Community We build bridges between unlikely allies to advance Pope Leo XIV's vision for human-centered AI. The greatest challenges facing humanity will only be solved through authentic alignment, grounded in truth, dignity, and shared purpose.

III. Co-Creation We convene leaders who contribute their time, talent, and treasure to help uplift human dignity and foster human flourishing in the time of artificial intelligence. The spaces we create are rare: where bold partnerships form, courageous ideas are tested, and meaningful action becomes possible.

Uplifting Human Dignity and Fostering Human Flourishing in the Time of Artificial Intelligence

Over the past eight years, our founding team has convened eleven global summits in Vatican City, bringing together leaders across faith, business, academia, philanthropy, labor, and government to address humanity's most pressing challenges.

Today, in strategic partnership with Magnifica Humanitas Foundation in Rome, and inspired by Magnifica Humanitas, the landmark encyclical of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, the Magnificent Humanity Foundation exists to help ensure that one of the most powerful technologies in human history is guided by wisdom, moral clarity, and a profound respect for the human person.

Artificial intelligence is transforming the conditions of human life at unprecedented speed. It holds extraordinary potential to expand knowledge, improve health, increase productivity, and unlock new forms of human flourishing. Yet without intentional leadership, its benefits risk becoming concentrated among a few, while its burdens fall disproportionately on workers, families, and communities.

This is not about slowing innovation. It is about shaping it responsibly, ensuring that technological progress advances human dignity, meaningful work, shared prosperity, and human flourishing.

Our Engine for Impact: The Public Equity Fund

Convening is where our work starts. The Public Equity Fund is how we turn conviction into a lasting mechanism … a simple idea with historical precedent: when a new source of wealth transforms a society, that wealth should be shared with the people who make up that society.

Alaska did this with oil. Norway did this with its sovereign wealth fund. We are doing this with AI.

How it's funded. The Fund is seeded by The Magnificent Humanity Pledge: a personal commitment by AI founders, starting with a pledge of 10% of founder equity in MAXIOM, to place a stake in their own companies' success into a shared fund. Like Alaska's oil royalties, this equity is invested first, so it grows over time, and dividends are paid from returns, not from principal. Other AI founders and companies are invited to join by making their own pledges, growing the shared pool for everyone.

How we measure impact. The Fund is guided by the Magnificent Humanity Labor & Flourishing Index, a simple scorecard that tracks how AI is affecting workers across four areas: economic security, skills and opportunity, dignity of work, and social cohesion. The Index tells us where AI's disruption is hitting hardest, so support reaches the right families and communities first.

Dividends to families. Where the Index shows real harm — displaced workers, disrupted industries, struggling communities — the Fund pays a direct, recurring dividend, just as Alaska pays every resident a share of its oil wealth. It is not a handout. It is a return on shared value, paid to the people whose labor and communities made that value possible.

From surviving to flourishing. A dividend keeps a family afloat. Flourishing takes more. Alongside direct payments, the Fund invests in:

• Reskilling and education stipends, helping workers train into new, AI-complementary roles

• Small-business and entrepreneurship seed capital, helping displaced workers become owners and creators in the new economy, not just recipients of it

• Community grants, strengthening the local schools, training centers, and institutions that help communities adapt rather than fracture

Together, these move families along a path — from security, to new capability, to ownership — so families don't just get by. They build something.
